The role will be instrumental in helping BGE HOME leverage data effectively to achieve their monthly and yearly department goals. You will be heavily involved in:

  • direct mail campaign list selection and validation
  • ad hoc analyses to explain trends and highlight issues affecting the business
  • the enhancement of existing Power BI reports and the development of new ones to allow the marketing team to make data-informed decisions

You will work closely with members of the marketing department to understand the challenges they face in their day-to-day work and will be expected to use your expertise in data and technology to solve those challenges. Additionally, you will serve as a subject matter expert for BGE HOME’s data and will help other departments with their data and analytics needs. With that in mind, success in this role will require the ability to work with stakeholders to understand complex business data needs and translate those requirements into actionable insights and effective reporting. Outside of day-to-day work, you will also have the opportunity to work with the solutions architect to shape the future of BGE HOME’s reporting and analytics infrastructure by migrating existing processes and data assets to Azure and modernizing BGE HOME’s technology stack.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Writing custom SQL queries to extract data from existing databases to answer business questions
  • Designing, building, and maintaining complex reports using MS SQL and Power BI
  • Balancing projects, daily tasks, and ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Troubleshooting issues by leveraging internal and external resources
  • Managing day-to-day relationships with external vendors
  • Collaborating with internal end-users to resolve technical problems and address business reporting issues
  • Providing suggestions to enhance current reporting capability to meet future business needs
  • Producing clear, concise, relevant, and accurate documentation


  • Experience with MS SQL and Power BI is required
  • Intermediate level of knowledge in writing SQL queries including stored procedures
  • Experience eliciting requirements from non-technical individuals
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and use own initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under a full workload with aggressive deadlines

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Power Automate and Power Apps
  • Experience with Azure cloud services
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics applications
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing best practices
