Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  (essential job functions)

  • Take directions from SE-1(Shift Supervisor).
  • Operate boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air compressors, etc. in and around the Energy Generation Facility.
  • Make routine rounds to inspect equipment and take shift readings.
  • Take samples and perform water tests.
  • Work closely with the SE-1 to ensure compliance with all governmental regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure work activities comply with company standards for quality, safety, reliability and efficiency.
  • Perform equipment lock out/tag out when preventive and predictive maintenance is performed.  
  • Maintain favorable working relationship with co-workers in order to support positive employee morale and productivity.
  • Communicate clearly and directly with co-workers, supervisors and managers.
  • Actively seek and suggest methods to improve operations, processes, safety, efficiency and reliability. 

 

Qualifications

Job Specifications:

Knowledge:

  • Expertise in power house equipment operation.
  • Strong understanding of related equipment and processes.
  • Possess ability to perform minor maintenance and repairs to stationary equipment.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong oral communication skills and the ability to write business correspondences to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervision.
  • Ability to collect data, establish facts, define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts to apply the basic concepts of algebra and geometry
  • Ability to handle all required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Work with minimal general supervision.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in power field or training in a related area; or, equivalent combination of four (4) years education and experience.

Other (including physical requirements, working conditions, etc.):

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and tolerate heights up to 75 feet.
  • Must be able to enter confined spaces.
  • Must have ability to lift 50 pounds.
