The Senior Analyst, Credit Risk is responsible for procedural oversight and portfolio analysis for the Constellation retail credit team. This job is also responsible for assessing and analyzing credit risk associated with the retail power and gas business, including various sales channels, as well as assessing/analyzing individual escalated transactions within their authority. As a member of the credit organization, this position will require an advanced understanding of the physical and financial products offered by the Company and the marketplace in order to properly assess and monitor counterparty credit/risk issues.

The incumbent is closely aligned with the business and functional leaders throughout the organization and is expected to foster and maintain strong working partnerships with their respective peers. This position requires interaction with the Sales and Sales Support organizations, Strategic Credit and Collections, and external customers and partners.


•Assess and analyze the credit quality of Constellation’s Retail business and make recommendations to improve overall profitability
•Track and assist in refining key performance metrics across multiple lines of business, customer channels, and risk classes
•Manage and assess escalated transactions and counterparties that are significant in terms of scale and/or riskiness
•Aggregate and analyze raw data to evaluate main drivers of bad debt and significant changes in industry or customer risk factors
•Assist on presentations to Senior Management that may include credit decisions and recommendations, top credit risks within the organization, and portfolio performance
•Administrative responsibilities for the credit system (Salesforce based platform) including general maintenance and testing as well as enhancements in automation, functionality, quality control, and performance
•Manage a monthly team process for monitoring high risk customers and coordinating collateral demand recommendations when necessary 



•BS in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related degree
•At least 5 years of relevant experience
•Understanding of methodologies and processes for managing large scale databases including relational databases
•Experience working with analytical models and spreadsheets, as well as Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI 
•Advanced understanding of Mark to Market calculations, valuations of forward contract positions, and energy market dynamics
•Ability to evaluate creditworthiness using an in-depth knowledge of credit fundamentals, communication with subject counterparties, and financial statement analysis and clearly convey results in an actionable well written report
•Self-motivated with excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills and ability to prioritize multiple duties in a fast-paced energy commodity sales and trading environment
•Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with commercial and functional partners, external counterparties, vendors, and senior level executives within Risk, Finance, and Sales


•Completion of formal credit training program
•Advanced degree and/or professional designation(s) in a related field



The Senior Analyst, Credit Risk has authority to approve credit requests escalated by analysts. The employee will:

•Assess and improve upon the credit process for all transactions and derive innovative solutions and structures to efficiently and effectively manage multiple risks associated with a multi-billion dollar portfolio
•Support Credit leadership in managing counterparty/customer limits and exposure monitoring to maintain compliance with credit policy and specific counterparty credit terms (including margining requirements)
•Support and develop junior credit personnel as they negotiate credit terms and conditions, participate in conference calls to assess counterparty credit worthiness, and perform customer visits
•Provide Credit Workout Team with early warning of potential high risk counterparties/customers, and assist in risk mitigation activities
•Maintain and advance quality assurance and control of risk data system and reporting integrity to ensure accuracy of external and internal processes, reporting, and disclosures
